LEARNING GOAL:

The goal of this “Tactical Rappelling Course” is to provide law enforcement personnel assigned to Swat / Tactical Operation teams the fundamentals and hands-on-training that will enhance their confidence and rappelling skills needed for "The Vertical Option".
 

LEARNING AIDS/ EQUIPMENT:

• Rappel gloves

• Figure 8 Descender

• Rappel harness

• 15’ section of 11mm rappel rope

• 15’ section of 1” tubular nylon

• 2 locking/ auto-locking carabineers (steel, alloy steel, or aluminum). 

• The student must also bring all assault gear, holster, vest, ballistic helmet, knee & elbow protection etc.

• Knots and Rope Management
• Various Techniques of Tactical Rappelling
• Tie Offs
• Inverted Rappel
• Lateral Movement on Ropes
• Belay Systems

Day 2

• Applications & Limitations of Tactical Rappelling
• Advanced Techniques
• Self-Belay Techniques and Equipment
• Self Rescue Techniques
• Ascending Techniques and Equipment
• Knot Passing and Changing Lines

Day 3

• Introduction to Window Entry
• Rope Deployment (Rope Bags)
• 2,3,and 4 Man Entries
• Weapons Management and Rappel
• Simmunition Drills

• Testing/Evaluation/Graduation
